The lighthouse tower and a corner of the Keepers' House roof are clearly visible from the docking facility at the adjacent Whalehead Club property, a 1920s residence recently acquired by the county. The grounds are open to the public year-round. The historic Whalehead Club will be restored as part of the Currituck Wildlife Museum and Interpretive Center.
