| A popular view of the lighthouse includes the southwest corner of the Keepers' House and cistern enhanced by a pear tree and willow tree. The picture highlights several architectural features of the Keepers' House, including a corbelled chimney cap, spire-shaped finial, and a crossbar and king post at the gable-end of the roof. Ornamental brackets support the roof overhang. At the base of the house a square cistern with a brick foundation features louvered wooden walls, and a board-and-batten pyramidal roof. The red brick tower of the lighthouse reaches 158 feet to the focal point of the lens. Two narrow windows visible in the shaft of the lighthouse tower face the sound; while three similar windows on the opposite side face the sea. The windows are surrounded by a projecting molded brick frame accented at its four corners and keystone with granite. |
